🍺 THE TAVERN RULES

Mind your manners, respect your fellow adventurers, and don't make us summon the barkeep.

⚔️ Respect Your Fellow Adventurers

Employees, players, spectators, and visitors alike must show respect to those around them and their belongings.

Friendly trash talk across the table is part of the fun, so long as everyone involved is having fun. Harassment, bullying, slurs, threats, or deliberately making another guest uncomfortable have no place within these walls.

Those who cannot abide by this may find themselves escorted from the Tavern, whether for the evening or for considerably longer.

Adventuring can be dirty work. The Tavern doesn't have to smell like it.

Please be mindful of strong odors, including smoke, cannabis, excessive body odor, heavy fragrances, urine, peepee-poo-poo, or whatever other foul curse may have befallen you.

If an odor is strong enough to affect those around you, Tavern staff may ask you to leave, remedy the situation, and return another time. We do this simply to keep The Deck & Dagger comfortable for everyone sharing the space.

While medical marijuana is legal in the State of Florida, use of cannabis on Tavern property is not permitted.

🧼 Arrive Tavern-Ready

Trading cards between fellow adventurers is not only allowed, it's encouraged.

Selling cards between players, visitors, spectators, or employees inside The Deck & Dagger, however, is strictly forbidden. All sales conducted within the Tavern must go through The Deck & Dagger.

If one player wishes to purchase a card from another, The Deck & Dagger may facilitate the transaction. The card will first be purchased by the Tavern at a percentage of its market value and may then be sold to the interested buyer at market price.

Trade to your heart's content. Just leave the merchant work to the merchants.

🤝 Trade Freely. Sell Elsewhere.
🧹 Leave No Goblin Encampments Behind

Wrappers, food, cups, dice, tokens, scraps of paper, and other remnants of your adventures should leave the table when you do.

Clean up after yourself and return the space to the condition you found it.

Do not leave your table looking like a goblin encampment.

The goblins have enough territory already.

🍗 Feast Responsibly

Food and drink are welcome, but use some common sense around other people's cards.

Keep lids on drinks whenever practical, and keep greasy or messy food away from cards, playmats, and other people's belongings.

If something spills, tell Tavern staff immediately.

Do not quietly wipe the Mountain Dew toward the adventurer piloting a $4,000 Commander deck and hope the gods sort it out.

Your belongings are your responsibility.

Do not touch another person's cards, deck, binder, dice, bag, playmat, or other belongings without their permission.

The Deck & Dagger cannot guarantee the safety of, or assume responsibility for, belongings left unattended within the Tavern.

Keep an eye on your loot.

🎒 Guard Your Own Inventory
🃏 "No Thanks" Means No Thanks

Trading should be fun for both players.

If someone declines a trade, respect the answer. Don't follow someone around trying to acquire their Charizard. Don't repeatedly lowball newer players. Don't pressure someone into a trade simply because you know more about card values than they do.

Make your offer. Haggle a little. Shake hands if you've struck a deal.

If they say no, the quest ends there.

🛡️ Protect the Young Adventurers

The Deck & Dagger welcomes players of all ages, and we take particular care with our younger members.

Trades involving younger players may be reviewed by Tavern staff if something appears significantly unfair or lopsided. Staff may pause or stop a trade when necessary.

Don't be the grown adult trying to fleece a kid out of their chase card.

Seriously.

Adventurers carry a frankly ridiculous amount of equipment.

Bags, deck boxes, cases, chairs, backpacks, and other belongings must not block aisles, walkways, doors, or emergency exits.

Stow your gear accordingly.

🚪 Keep the Paths Clear
🏆 Respect the Tournament Grounds

Casual players are welcome during tournaments when space allows, but please respect organized events happening around you.

Do not interfere with matches, reveal information about someone's hand, coach players from the sidelines, or argue rulings from another table.

During organized play, tournament rulings belong to the acting Judge or Tournament Organizer.

If you're unsure whether casual-play space will be available during a large event, send us a quick message on Discord before making the journey to the Tavern.

🎲 Keep Your Coin Purse Out of the Match

Gambling or wagering on matches is prohibited inside The Deck & Dagger.

Cards, cash, merchandise, or other things of value should not be privately wagered on the outcome of games played within the Tavern.

Those caught gambling or wagering may be asked to leave and may lose their Tavern privileges permanently.

There are plenty of ways to lose your money playing card games already.

The Deck & Dagger is a relaxed Tavern. We're going to joke, laugh, yell across tables, celebrate ridiculous topdecks, and occasionally say things we probably wouldn't say at Sunday dinner.

But we're also an all-ages Tavern.

Excessive public displays of affection and excessively sexual, explicit, or off-color conversations and jokes should be kept to a minimum or moved to a more appropriate setting.

Read the room. Be aware of who's sitting around you. Use common sense.

We're not asking everyone to behave like they're visiting the royal court. We're asking everyone to help keep the Tavern comfortable for the adventurers around them.

🏰 Remember Where You Are
🍺 Leave the Ale to the Adventurers

ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL is permitted inside The Deck & Dagger.

We may look like a tavern, but the ale here is purely aesthetic. We do not serve alcohol, and outside alcoholic beverages may not be brought into or consumed anywhere inside the Tavern.

Allowing alcohol to be consumed on the premises can create serious legal and licensing risks for the Tavern. Please don’t put us in that position.

If it has alcohol in it, leave it outside. No exceptions.

Violations: If alcohol is brought into or consumed inside the Tavern, you will be required to immediately remove it from the premises. Depending on the circumstances, you may also be asked to leave at the Barkeep’s discretion. Repeated or deliberate violations may result in removal from the Tavern and loss of the privilege to return.

🔨 The Barkeep Has the Final Word

No collection of rules can account for every strange situation a band of adventurers might create.

Tavern staff may address any behavior that is disruptive, unsafe, inappropriate, or negatively affecting the experience of other guests, even when that behavior isn't specifically mentioned above.

Staff decisions regarding conduct inside The Deck & Dagger are final.

🍻 Above All Else...

We're all here for the same reasons:

Play games. Roll dice. Sling cards. Make friends. Tell stories. Laugh too loudly. Stay awhile.

Help us keep The Deck & Dagger a place where veterans and first-time adventurers alike feel comfortable pulling up a chair.

Respect the Tavern. Respect your fellow adventurers. And don't make us summon the barkeep.
